US-Iran Tension Updates: Iran Launches Missiles After Israel-US Joint Airstrikes; India Issues Safety Advisory

Israel is on high alert as its army says air raid sirens sound "a short while ago" in several areas across the country after identifying missiles launched from Iran. The development follows coordinated daylight military strikes carried out by Israel and the United States (US) on Iran, sharply escalating tensions in the Middle East.

Multiple explosions are reported in and around Tehran, including near sensitive locations, as Israeli authorities describe the operation as a "preventive attack" aimed strictly at military targets. Simultaneously, air raid sirens sounded across several parts of Israel, signalling the start of a high-alert security situation.

Shortly after the strikes, the Israel Defence Forces confirmed that missiles had been launched from Iran toward Israeli territory. According to the military, interception systems were immediately activated, and defensive responses were underway. Emergency alerts were pushed directly to mobile phones in affected areas, instructing residents to stay close to bomb shelters and protected spaces.

Israel Airstrikes Iran

Iranian state-linked media reported loud blasts across Tehran, contributing to confusion and fear among civilians. Reports suggested that some of the strikes occurred near high-security zones, including areas associated with senior leadership.

An AFP report indicated that one strike landed close to offices linked to Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, though Iranian authorities have not officially confirmed the extent of the damage.

Israel Closes Airspace, Steps Up Security

Following confirmation of the strikes, Israel moved swiftly to shut its airspace to all civilian flights. Transport Minister Miri Regev announced that the decision was taken due to rapidly evolving security threats, underscoring the seriousness of the situation. Airports across the country suspended operations as a precautionary measure.

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said the military action was designed to neutralise threats posed by Iran. He reiterated that Israel's focus remained on military infrastructure and capabilities, stressing that the strikes were carried out to protect national security amid growing regional risks.

US Iran Tension: Trump Voices Anger Over Nuclear Talks, Confirms Military Action

The United States confirmed that it was also conducting its own military operations against Iran. The escalation followed strong remarks from US President Donald Trump, who expressed dissatisfaction with the direction of nuclear negotiations with Tehran.

Trump suggested that Washington faced a major strategic decision, accusing Iran of long-standing violent actions and regional destabilisation.

His comments highlighted mounting frustration within the White House and signalled a shift toward a more forceful approach, as diplomatic efforts appeared to stall amid rising hostilities.

India Issues Safety Advisories For Indians in Iran

As the Israel-Iran conflict intensified, India issued fresh advisories for its citizens in the region. The Embassy of India in Tel Aviv urged Indian nationals in Israel to remain extremely cautious, stay alert, and strictly follow safety instructions issued by Israeli authorities and the Home Front Command.

The advisory advised citizens to stay close to designated shelters and familiarise themselves with the nearest protected spaces around their homes and workplaces. Indian authorities also issued guidance for nationals in Iran, asking them to remain vigilant, monitor local developments closely, and avoid high-risk areas as tensions continued to rise.
