The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) announced that 123PAY now supports electricity bill payments for more than 70 power distribution companies. According to the NPCI, the feature will enable users to make instant payments directly from their bank accounts through a smooth and quick electricity bill payment service via 123PAY. It enables users to pay their bills via feature phones without the need for internet access. here is how to pay electricity bill using UPI 123.
What is UPI 123?
UPI 123PAY is an instant payment system for feature phone users that allows them to use the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) payment service safely and securely. Using UPI 123PAY, feature phone users will now be able to conduct a variety of transactions based on four technological alternatives. Among them are IVR (interactive voice response) numbers, app functionality in feature phones, a missed call-based approach, and proximity sound-based payments.
How to pay electricity bill on 123PAY?
Step 1: The customer contacts 123Pay at 080-4516-3666 or 6366 200 200.
Step 2: First-time/new users will be onboarded.
Step 3: The user will select the option to pay the electricity bill.
Step 4: The user should then state the name of the Electricity Board for which payments are required.
Step 5: The user must then enter the consumer/customer number and any other information requested on the call.
Step 6: The user will then be informed of the outstanding bill amount.
Step 7: The user enters his or her UPI PIN for payment.
By dialling payment numbers '080 4516 3666' or '6366 200 200' powered by Bharat Bill Payment Service, users will be able to pay their electricity bills in 10 regional languages.
HOW to ENTER UPI PIN ON UPI 123PAY USING A FEATURE PHONE?
Follow the steps outlined below:
1. The customer must dial the IVR number.
2. Choose a language by clicking on the number that corresponds to the language.
3. Select whether or not to register your bank account.
4. The customer must enter their debit card information.
5. The customer must enter their UPI PIN.
How to change or reset upi pin from a feature phone for upi 123pay?
The steps to change or reset your UPI PIN for UPI 123PAY are as follows:
1. The customer must dial the IVR number.
2. Go to settings (Manage your account)
3. Select the number that corresponds to the UPI PIN update.
4. Then you must enter your current UPI PIN twice, followed by your new UPI PIN.
5. Your UPI PIN has been successfully changed.

How to authorize a UPI 123pay transaction using my UPI pin?
The UPI PIN is a 4-6 digit pass code that you create/set when you first register with the Mobile App/IVR/any other channel. To authorise all bank transactions, you must enter this UPI-PIN.
What will happen if I enter the wrong upi pin for authorising UPI 123pay?
If a customer enters the wrong UPI PIN, the transaction will fail and you have to start the process again. In case customer enter wrong UPI PIN multiple times, bank will temporarily block sending money using UPI form his Bank Account
