Aadhaar card has become a very important document over the years. Its use has become essential for availing various other services including banking, vehicle registration, and insurance policies. Aadhaar card contains authenticated information of your biometrics and important personal information is recorded.
It's also a good idea to keep your Aadhaar card up to date. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has also reminded authorities and individuals to double-check the Aadhaar number before accepting it as proof of identification.

UIDAI has said that before using the Aadhaar number, you should make sure whether it is active or not. It's also important to check if the information in your Aadhaar matches what's in the UIDAI's database.
Here's how you can verify your Aadhaar Card:
Step 1 : Visit the UIDAI website at uidai.gov.in.
Step 2 : In the 'My Aadhaar Menu, click on 'Verify an Aadhaar number' under the 'Aadhar Services' tab Aadhaar companies or use the direct link
Step 3 : Enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number and captcha.
The website will display the message 'Aadhaar Verification Complete' if the Aadhaar number is valid. Other information will be displayed as well. Your age, the name of your state, and the last three digits of your phone number, for example.
In case it failed to verify
If it fails to verify the Aadhaar number after numerous attempts, it signifies the Aadhaar number is not present. You must next take the required papers to the nearest Aadhaar Enrolments centre. Your biometrics will be confirmed again and placed into the UIDAI database. You will be charged GST at the rate of 18% plus Rs 25 for this, and your Aadhaar will be updated as a result.
