What is Common Service Center?

CSC are access points for the distribution of different e-government services to rural and remote locations and urban areas where Internet connectivity is insufficient. There were 1,57,000 CSCs already working in the country and the government is developing more to enable a strong internet connection in the rural part of the country. The upgraded version CSC 2.0 is designed to cover 2.5 Lakhs Gram Panchayats to improve e-service delivery to people.

Under the Companies Act of 1956, the Ministry of Electronics & IT introduced a new agency, CSC e-Services India Limited, to supervise the execution of the CSC proposal. To improve the performance of services, CSC SPV is creating an organized framework for delivering G2C and B2C programs to rural residents of Surat via CSCs.

Creating CSCs as a comprehensive and transcendent Citizen Service Points IT-enabled network that connects local citizens with government offices, businesses, banks, insurance companies, and educational facilities that have a major impact on the economy's primary, secondary, and tertiary sectors. CSC e-Governance Service India Limited is a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) developed by the Government of India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology to regulate the services of Common Service Centers (CSC) under the Companies Act of 1956. in Surat. CSC 2.0's current model implementation at GP level runs on a self-sustainable service delivery / transaction-oriented network with the goal of allowing effective use of the capital generated in the city in the form of BharatNet / NOFN and other networking systems. CSC is primarily the Government of India's running program forum for Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs), without restrictions on affordable wealth and development aid. Training in the Entrepreneurship Development Program facilitates the continuity of CSC activities and updates of new projects and instantly assisted VLEs.

The national label "Digital Seva Kendras" was introduced along with the co-brands of the states / UTs to maintain standardization throughout all States / UTs. It provides a transparent and accountable eServices mapping framework that CSCs develop for each and every region with a different CSC and GIS mapping number to allow the government to fill the gap in creating a city-wide self-supporting CSC infrastructure. Programs are underway at the state / UT tier to merge different service portals to CSC's Universal Online Platform, "The Digital Seva Portal," to generate all amenities (G2C & B2C) through CSC.

CSC e-Governance Service India Ltd. – CSC -SPV

CSC — SPV is the coordinating mechanism for the CSC 2.0 plan to set up DeitY and State / UT administration with appropriate tools for service delivery and ensure the system is implemented successfully. The CSC SPV is Surat's most effective agency with the launch of the CSC Sustainability system for the city. CSC-SPV's primary target as laid out below:

  • A unified CSC implementation plan has been developed and built for CSC 2.0 and will also be applied nationally.

    It will involve other main performance measures (KPIs) in Surat, such as active financial management, professional human resource facilities, MIS and administration, active service efficiency, assistance desk, resource utilization, and other services.

  • Maintain analysis of all government services and facilities in the CSCs based in Surat.
  • Promote and develop local language customer care facilities for VLEs in Surat.
  • Acts as an entity to enable mutual distribution on-board and resources (G2C, B2C & B2B) across CSC's specific development network. This would build a common set of facilities, available at all CSCs across the city.
